During any base spin, the Royal Wild Nuts feature can trigger at random.
Beside the reels you will find the three top paying character symbols. One or more will become gold and will change into a specific type of wild symbol during the next spin.

- Stacked Wild – the specific character will become a stacked wild. Stacked wilds are between 2 to 4 symbols high during the base game and up to 5 symbols high during free spins

During free spins special gem symbols can now appear. These are blue, red, green or white. Each color matches a Royal Nut character and the white gems counts as all three at once.
Each time a character collects 2 gems it will be upgraded. The first two gems will make the character wild, the second two gems make that wild stacked and the third and also last two gems will make that wild an expanding wild.

Like I stated in the beginning, NetEnt has been a little bit of a hit or miss for me lately. I liked Big Money Wheel and also Pandora’s Treasure, but Golden Realms had a way too low maximum payout to be interesting.
Royal Nuts doesn’t disappoint. I really like this game. I like the theme but also the features are fun. The random bonus during normal spins seems to appear pretty often and free spins, with the upgrading wilds, is just fun.
Maybe it’s nothing innovating or new, but it all works well. And the maximum payout is also decent, especially for a medium volatile slot.
