Raging Rex 3 Overview
In 2021 Play’n Go released Raging Rex and a year later, Raging Rex 2. Now a year after that we see the release of Raging Rex 3. So it must be a popular series to get another addition.
The theme and setup of the game is the same. A dinosaur theme with symbols caught in ember and different dinosaur symbols. The reels set against a prehistoric landscape.
The game use 6 reels that are each 4 symbols high and comes with 4096 ways.
Besides the low paying symbols, which are set in ember. You also find all sorts of dinosaurs. And of course we have a T-rex, which counts as the wild symbol. This symbol can appear stacked on reels 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6, as a grown T-rex, or as single wild symbols, called hatchlings.
Finally we also have scatter symbols on all reels.
Raging Rex 3 comes with a very big maximum payout of 30.000 times your bet and is a medium volatile slot game.

Rex Re-spins
When a fully stacked Rex wild appears on a reel, the re-spin feature is triggers.
The Rex moves one reel to the left after each spin, until it reached the leftmost reel. Any hatchlings that might appear will also move to the left, in front of, or behind the Rex wild. Once the Rex reached reel 1, the re-spins are over.
Free Spins Features
3, 4, 5 or 6 scatter symbols will award 7, 9, 11 and 13 free spins respectively, when picking a free spins feature. Or you can pick the Survival feature.
You are able to pick between 3 different features:
- Feeding Frenzy – A fully stacked Rex will become a sticky wild that will move to a new reel after each spin. A random dinosaur symbol is picked and the Rex will eat all of them that appear. Each time you have eaten 6 of them, the multiplier of the Rex wild will go up by x1. 2, 3, 4 or 5 scatter symbols will add 1, 2, 3 and 4 extra free spins.
- Hatchling Mania – The Rex symbol doesn’t appear during these free spins. Hatchlings do and are sticky and can move to a new spot after each spin. Hatchlings might have a multiplier of x2 or x3. 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 scatter symbols award 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 extra free spins respectively.
- Survival – This is a different type of bonus. You will go to a screen with a big T-rex in the middle and 12 symbols surrounding it. You start with 3 lives and each type a dinosaur appears, it will be eaten and the lives are reset. Dinosaurs have a starting value of x1, x2, x5 and x10. Each dinosaur eaten will fill a meter and each time you have eaten a certain amount, the values of the dinosaurs goes up.
Verdict
The first and second edition of this series are already good games. And this third one doesn’t disappoint either. I like the fact that they kept some of the original features, like the walking wilds. And also added the option to choose between 3 different bonus features. I can’t tell you which one is best, but I enjoy them all three.
If they keep this up, they could add even more titles to the series. But also, maybe three is enough.
