Released by Red Tiger, but of course NetEnt titles. And now we even get a sequel to a Megaways version, Piggy Riches 2 Megaways. Yes that’s the name, I would have preferred Piggy Riches Megaways 2, but that’s just me.
The game uses the same theme as all earlier titles. Two rich pigs, a male and a female and all sorts of valuables.
As expected, you will find 6 reels that are each between 2 and 7 symbols high during each spin. This means that per spin you might get a maximum of 117.649 ways.
Besides low paying card symbols you will also find high paying valuables like for instance money bags and piggy banks. There are also wild symbols, more on those below. And lastly scatter symbols available on all reels.

Feature
Cascades
The game uses cascading symbols. This means that winning symbols are removed and new symbols fall on top, creating the option for another win. This will continue until no more new win appears.
Gentleman Pig Wilds
Wild symbols can land on the middle 4 reels, but never on reels 2 and 3 at the same time.
They will always appear fully stacked and come with a multiplier of between x2 and x7.
Wild symbols are sticky between all winning cascades and won’t be removed when used in a winning combination.
Hold & Respin Feature
3 or more scatter symbols will trigger the Hold & Respin bonus. You are awarded with 3 free spins. Before free spins start you will spin a wheel that will award between 2 and 15 cash symbols and between 1 and 5 saves.
Only cash symbols, special bonus symbols and empty spots appear during these spins. Cash symbols have value of between 1 and 10 times bet and will lock when appearing.
Each time a new cash symbol or special symbol appears, the spins are reset back to 3. Each time spins run out, a saver will be used to reset the spins back to 3 and 1 cash symbol will be added to a random spot on the reels.
Special bonus symbols
Besides the cash symbols, the following special symbols can also appear:
- Piggy Bank – comes with a value of between 1x and 10x bet. When appearing, the value will be added to all adjacent spots, no matter if those spots are empty or not. The Piggy Bank symbol itself doesn’t lock.
- Purse – will collect all cash symbols on the reels, clearing those spots.
- Key – will add 1 extra row of symbols, up to a maximum of 7 rows. Key symbols don’t lock.
- Money Bag – have a value of between 30x and 100x bet.
- Gentleman Pig – has a value of 5x bet. When appearing it will add its own value to all cash and money bag symbols. The Gentleman Pig value will increase for the next time it lands, from 5x to 10x, 15x, 25x, 50x and 100x. Gentleman Pig symbols do not lock.
- Lady Pig – comes with a starting multiplier of x1. When it appears, it collects all values of all Cash, Purse and Money Bag symbols and will multiply that total by the Lady Pig multiplier. After that, the Lady Pig multiplier increases by x1 for each Lady Pig that appeared.
- Credit Cards – each time this symbol lands, it will increase the value of the Gentleman Pig to the next level and the Lady Pig by x1. Credit Card symbols don’t lock.
The feature ends when you have no more spins and no more saves, or when you manage to fill the entire screen with symbols.
Verdict
When started playing this sequel to Piggy Riches Megaways, I thought, what’s the difference? The base game feels almost identical. Except when those wilds landed. They are now held, become sticky during all cascades, which is a nice new twist and can award some good wins.
The free spins however are totally different and replaced with a Hold & Respin bonus, much like the Money Train slots. So no longer an increasing multiplier, as a lot of Megaways slot have.
I like it a lot that they went for this type of bonus. It’s something different and it’s also a solid bonus game that can award some huge wins.
Of course everything Piggy Riches 2 Megaways offers isn’t anything we haven’t seen before, but it is well put together and the classic theme also adds something extra.
