It’s finally time for a new slot release by NetEnt. The main reason I started this website.
And their new title is called Cornelius. Who is Cornelius you might ask. Well it’s a fat cat looking for treats and nothing more. A bit like Garfield maybe.
The game is set in a kitchen with Cornelius waiting for some nice treats to appear on the reels.
You will find 5 reels that are each 4 symbols high and it comes with 1024 ways instead of paylines.
Symbols consist of standard card symbols, but also fish, milk, a picture frame of Cornelius and of course a tin of cat food. There are no wild symbols on the reels. But you will find a glass pot of treats as scatter symbols.
You will also find plated of treats with cash values on the, these are Cash Drop Symbols and come into play during two bonuses.
Unfortunately Cornelius has a very low maximum payout of only 1.051 times your bet. But then again, the game is also very low volatile.

Cash Drop
When at least 3 cash drop symbols appear on the reels this bonus is triggered.
You are awarded with 3 respins. Each new Cash Drop symbol appearing will reset the respins back to three.
After each spin all Cash Drop values are collected and all Cash Drop symbols drop down one row on the reels until they finally leave the screen.
Free Spins
3 or more scatter symbols will trigger the free spins feature.
You are awarded with 3 respins and each new symbol appearing will reset the number of respins.
During these respins only cash drop symbols and special symbols can appear.
- Cash Drop Symbol – Worth between 0,1 and 0,5 times your bet
- Up – Will move all multiplier and cash drop symbols up one row
- Golden Up – Will move all multiplier and cash drop symbols up as high as possible on a reel
- Adder – Will display a value of between 0,1 and 0,3 times your bet and will add this to each cash drop symbol after each respin. These Adder symbols will stay on the reels until the end of the feature
- Multiplier – Will multiply all Cash Drop Symbols currently in view by x2
The rest of the feature works the same as the Cash Drop Feature. Cash Drop Symbols dropping down after each respin and being collected.

Verdict
These days more and more new slot releases have to be high or extremely high volatile. It seems that’s what players want and studios are playing into it. So I can really appreciate that NetEnt decided to release a low volatile game.
Not every player wants that extreme slot. And Cornelius isn’t extreme at all. It’s a fun and cute game with some nice features. But it also doesn’t really bring anything new or exciting.
So I’m not sure how popular this game will be. I’m guessing it will be forgotten quite soon. It’s one of those games that’s perfect for new players, but will bore hardcore gamers fast.
