Colt Lightning Firestorm Overview
Last year Play’n Go released a new game called Colt Lightning. This was a pretty decent game with a big maximum win of 25.000 times bet. But I don’t think it made much of an impact. And I personally already forgot about this game. So now Play’n Go released a follow-up called Colt Lightning Firestorm that uses pretty much the same theme, but doubles the maximum win to a massive 50.000 times bet and offers some other features.
The theme still revolves around a Colt, which is a young horse. Together with other North-American animals. And the reels are set against some sort of canyon.
You will find 5 reels that are each 4 symbols high and the game uses 1024 ways instead of paylines. Meaning that symbols pay from left to right, starting on the first reel, no matter where on the reels.
Besides standard, low paying, card symbols, there are also different types of high paying animals and the Colt as highest paying symbol. Then we have a special horseshoe that can only appear on reel 3. Fireballs that appear on reels 2, 3 and 4 only and lastly wild symbols, which can appear anywhere.
Colt Lightning Firestorm comes with a huge maximum payout of 50.000 times your bet and is a medium to high volatile slot game.
Features
Lightning Blaze
When the horseshoe symbol lands on reel 3, either during normal play or free spins, the Lightning Blaze feature is triggered.
Between 3 and 20 random spots on the reels will receive a burning frame. All these symbols will turn into one and the same animal symbols.
Firestorm Feature
Landing all 3 scatter symbols on reels 2, 3 and 4 at the same time will award one of two different features.
Fortune Strike
Awards a random reward of between 5 and 200 times bet.
Fire Free Spins
You will be awarded with 8 free spins with an added row of symbols. Giving you 3.125 ways during free spins.
During free spins Colt symbols are now Fire Colts and will pay double.
If the horseshoe symbol appears it will still trigger the Lightning Blaze feature. But all frames stay until the end of the free spins and will then all change into one and the same animal symbol.
Each scatter symbol appearing during free spins will add 1 more free spin, up to a maximum of 46.
Verdict
This new slot game feels a lot like the original title. It also uses ways and the Colts also pay double during free spins.
But this new version comes with those special frames that change into one and the same symbol. And a different free spins feature.
And of course double the maximum payout.
But I’m not sure if the game is different enough, or stands out enough to make this one a hit. Time will tell.
