Medusa’s Stone Overview
Pragmatic Play released a new online slot game called Medusa’s Stone.
Of course revolving around Medusa. A figure from Greek mythology that turned everybody that looked at her into stone and was finally defeated by Perseus. To be honest, the story is originally pretty sad, but the focus is of course the turing into stone.
You will find 5 reels that are each 3, 4, 4, 4 and 3 symbols high and 20 paylines.
Besides low paying card symbols you will find medium paying weapons and gear and high paying characters. Wild symbols don’t appear as a normal symbol, but only due to a feature. Lastly we have the scatter symbols, which only appears on reels 1, 3 and 5 and is Medusa. These can appear as normal and as super scatter, more on that below.
Medusa’s Stone comes with a nice maximum payout of 7.000 times your bet and is a high volatile slot game.
Features
Medusa Spin
During the base game, at random, you might trigger the Medusa Spin feature. When this does, after all reels are done spinning, any character symbol appearing on the middle three reels will be turned wild.
Free Spins Feature
Getting all three normal scatter symbols will trigger 10 free spins.
During free spins, when a Medusa Spin is triggered, all characters are again transformed into wilds, but will now also get a random multiplier. If a wild symbol isn’t uses, it will stay sticky onto the reels until it is used.
Also, whenever a wild is used, the multiplier is collected and can only increase. This multiplier applies to all winning combinations. Multipliers can be x2, x3, x4, x5 or x6.
Triggering free spins with the Super Scatters will award 12 free spins, will trigger Medusa Spin more often and multipliers are now x4, x5, x6, x6 and x8.
Both free spins features can’t retriggered.

Verdict
Medusa’s Stone is a really nice game with solid features.
The setup is a little weird, at first I thought it was a ways slot, but it’s not. I’m not sure why they used this 3, 4, 4, 4, 3 reels setup. Maybe just aesthetic.
The Medusa Spin feature seems to trigger pretty often, which keeps the base game interesting. And during free spins the increasing multiplier and the fact that wilds stay until they are used, is a nice bonus. Of course Super Free Spins are more interesting, but will trigger less often. But luckily you are able to buy these if you really want.
Just a good game with a good feature.
