Max Megaways 2 Overview
Almost a year ago Big Time Gaming released a game called Max Megaways. Now this game received a sequel with the simple name Max Megaways 2.
As you might remember, the game revolves around a secret agent called Max, a James Bond type of guy. And just like those famous books and movies, our main character is moving away from a secret lair into space.
A lot of the games mechanics have stayed the same. Even the basic symbols are the same. But this second addition does offer some other features and even a bigger maximum payout.
The game has 6 reels that are between 2 and 7 symbols high during each spin. And also has a top row of symbols above reels 2, 3, 4 and 5. This setup can give a maximum of 117.649 ways per spin.
You will find standard card symbols, the well-known gem symbols Big Time Gaming uses in a lot of their games, the purple ones always being the highest paying ones. There are also wild symbols, which only appear on the top row or during a special bonus feature on reels 2, 3, 4 and 5. Finally you have scatter symbols which are golden suitcases with either gold bars or a diamond in them.
Max Megaways 2 comes with a massive maximum payout of 147.620 times your bet. An increase of almost 10.000 times bet from the original.

Reactions
Winning combinations is removed from the reels and all symbols fall down. New symbols fall on top and/or are added to the top row of symbols. After this you can get another winning combination and the process keeps repeating until no new winning combinations appear.
Random Bonuses
During the base game one of four random modifiers can be triggered at any point.
- Maximum Megaways – Giving the maximum number of Megaways possible
- Multiplier Wild – A multiplier wild up to x10 is added to the top row
- Horizontal Wild – All symbols on the top row become wild
- Symbol to Wild – A random normal paying symbol is picked and all instances of that symbol on reels 2, 3, 4 and 5 and on the top row will turn wild
Free Spins Feature
3 scatter symbols will award 10 free spins and any extra scatter symbol will add 2 more free spins.
Before free spins start you get to pick from 5 spots to give you modifiers which are active during free spins.
If you trigger the free spins with only Gold Bar Scatters, you get 2 picks. If you trigger free spins with the special diamond scatter, you get 3 picks.
The modifiers are:
- Double Multiplier – The general multiplier will go up by x2 after each reaction
- 2 Scatter Retrigger – 2 scatter symbols will add 4 more free spins
- Increased Ways – Each reel is at least 5 symbols high during each spin
- Multiplier Boost – The free spins start with a x6 general multiplier
- Symbol to Wild – A random normal paying symbol is picked before free spins start and all instances of that symbol on reels 2, 3, 4 and 5 and on the top row will turn wild each free spin
Free spins have a general multiplier that starts at x1 and will increase by x1 after each reaction. Except if you happen to activate the Double Multiplier modifier.
Scatter symbols only appear on the top row during free spins. Getting 3 of them will add 5 more free spins, Except if you happen to activate the 2 Scatter Retrigger modifier.
Bonus Buy
Some casinos will offer the option to buy the free spins feature. For 75x bet you get 2 modifiers, for 200x bet you get 3 modifiers.
Win Exchange
The game also comes with something they all Win Exchange. If you win 100x or more your bet during a base spin, you can trade this for 10 free spins. If you win between 25x and 100x your bet, you can gamble the win for a chance to win 10 free spins or lose it.
Verdict
Big Time Gaming hasn’t changed a lot. The symbol to wild is new and also the multiplier wild is new. But all the basics are pretty much the same. Except Max is now in space, which by the way works very well. I’m guessing they can keep going with this Max character and move him around the world and even the galaxy.
Overall Max Megaways was a great game and this second isn’t any worse or better, it’s more of the same, but it works well. And of course both games have that massive maximum payout, which I can really appreciate.
