Pragmatic Play released a new game called Dwarf & Dragon which seems to take inspiration from The Hobbit. I guess the second movie where the dwarfs want to get some treasure from a dragon.
Well at least this dragon and dwarf seem to be a lot more friendly and kind, because it has a cute and upbeat theme.
The game uses 5 reels that are each 4 symbols high and comes with 1024 ways instead of paylines.
Beside low paying gem symbols and high paying treasure searching symbols, you will also find wild symbols on reels 2, 3 and 4 and bonus or scatter symbols on all reels.

Splitting symbols
Split symbols can appear on all reels. When a split symbol is part of a winning combination it will multiplier the total win by x2. So it won’t give you a 6 of a kind or higher as you might think.
Multiplier Wilds
Wild symbols can come with a random multiplier of x2, x3, x5 or x10. Split symbols will have a multiplier on each side.
If more than one multiplier appears in a winning combination, the multipliers are added together.
Free Spins Feature
3, 4 or 5 scatter symbols will award 10, 15 and 20 free spins respectively.
I am not sure what the added bonus is during free spins. It only mentions that there are different reels in play. So maybe more split symbols, or more wild symbols? But that isn’t mentioned.
2, 3, 4 or 5 scatter symbols during free spins will add 3, 10, 15 and 25 more free spins respectively.
Bonus Buy
Some casinos offer the option to buy free spins for 100 times your bet. This will award a minimum of 3 scatter symbols.
Verdict
Dwarf & Dragon is a nice looking slot. And is also enjoyable to play.
It might not use anything special or completely new. But it does work on a 1024 ways slot game.
The only confusing thing is the split symbols, which won’t give a more of a kind, like a 8 of a kind for instance when you have 3 split symbols. But it just doubles your win. This does feel a bit strange to me. And also, the free spins doesn’t mention anything special, which is also a bit confusing.
But overall it’s a fun game with a fun theme and a pretty big maximum win.
